At the beginning of October, MYP5 art students visited the KunstHal in Rotterdam. The museum houses a spectacular retrospective of the work of conceptual artist Ai Weiwei, which links directly to the current unit ‘Art as Concept’. His work could not be more relevant, touching on issues of human rights and corruption. The students had a guided tour with a museum guide and had some time to explore the exhibition in small groups. The visit was successful and impactful, the students are currently thinking about what is important to them and how they can make their work conceptually to communicate their thoughts and ideas.
