1 April 2020
Dear ISD parents,
Yesterday evening, the Dutch government announced that the measures to control the coronavirus outbreak will be extended until 28 April. All schools and day care centres will remain closed until this date. For ISD, this means that the schools, until further notice, will re-open after the May Holidays on Monday 11 May.
Even though the announcement may not have come as a surprise, we do understand that a longer period of physical school closure could cause new uncertainties and possible concerns for families. Please be aware that we are here to provide support and answer any questions you may have.
We are fortunate to have a strong ISD community, and we have already seen great initiatives for support between ISD families. However, we would like to reiterate that if you work in a vital job, and do not have any possibility to home school your children for this prolonged period of time, please contact the leadership team of the school directly and we will find a solution (Sander Raaphorst: sraaphorst@isdelft.nl or Jaap Mos j.mos@internationalschooldelft.org )
As we have already managed to successfully transfer to home schooling, we are confident that ISD staff and students are up to the challenge of continuing with the provided distance learning programme. Our teachers will discuss the new situation with the students and, where necessary, communicate new working arrangements to continue distance learning during school closure.
All of us, from our teachers and staff, to you the parents and students, are in this together. We encourage you to provide us with any feedback or suggestions you may have for our digital classrooms. While we will continue to do our best to provide students with an engaging learning environment, we value your input for improvements.
Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Stay healthy and safe,
Sander Raaphorst – sraaphorst@isdelft.nl
Jaap Mos – j.mos@internationalschooldelft.org
