Last week, our school hosted a successful and fun-filled Sports Day at the outdoor fields in Rijswijk, bringing together students from MYP and DP in an exciting event that highlighted teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit. The day was divided into two parts: in the morning, students in MYP 1 and 2 enjoyed their own set of activities, while MYP 3, 4, and 5 had a separate, energetic program.
In the afternoon, all students gathered for the highly anticipated tug-of-war competition and a grand relay race, which was the perfect conclusion to an already active and joyful day. These events fostered a wonderful sense of unity across the year groups.
A special mention goes to our amazing DP-1 students who took on leadership roles, ensuring that all activities ran smoothly. Their hard work, both in preparation and on the day itself, was truly commendable. The involvement of dedicated teachers also contributed greatly to the event’s success, but it was the DP-1 students who led with confidence and enthusiasm.
An exciting highlight of the day was the presentation of the Fair Play Award, which went to Team Black and White (MYP 1 and 2) and Team Purple (MYP 3, 4, and 5) for their outstanding display of sportsmanship and positive attitude throughout the event.
More than just a fun day, this sports event left a lasting impact on the school grounds. We’ve already seen younger students, like those from MYP 1, engaging more with older students—even as far as DP-2—creating a more connected and supportive school community.
All in all, Sports Day was a huge success, and we are proud of how it brought our students and teachers together in such a positive and collaborative way.
