ISD Secondary is currently housed at the Colijnlaan, an attractive learning environment with all facilities required for the MYP inquiry-based and investigative learning. The Colijnlaan allows for initial growth of the school, however, plans for a new building have been there from the start.
In November the architect selection came to a conclusion. Atelier PRO, a highly acclaimed architect agency from The Hague, has been unanimously selected for this exciting project.
Last week a project agreement that lays out all the obligations and authorizations for the realization of our new school building was signed by the City of Delft and our governing school board, Stichting Lucas Onderwijs.
City counciler Hatte van der Woude is pleased with this milestone: “A festive signing ceremony was not possible due to COVID -19. But the City of Delft is looking forward to the new ISD Secondary school building and the start of the construction.”
“The educational concept for ISD Secondary – inquiry-based and future-oriented aligns well with the TU area of “Gele Scheikunde”. With this agreement we have a solid foundation for the construction of the new building”, says Ewald van Vliet, Chairman of the Executive Board for Stichting Lucas Onderwijs.
The site for the new school building will be located within the TU Delft campus, between Prins Bernardlaan, Julianlaan and Michiel de Ruyterweg, in close vicinity of the Primary school. In the conceptual vision for the design of the school, the architects focused on the future-oriented learning that is central to the identity of International School Delft. The building will accommodate different ‘user needs’ and a diverse range of learning environments that are central to the Middle Years Programme.
