The International Award at ISD

At International School Delft, we are proud to offer The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, a globally recognised youth development programme that challenges students to discover their potential, develop resilience, and build essential life skills beyond the classroom.

Open to students from MYP4 and up, the Award is a personal journey of growth and achievement. Participants set their own goals and work through three core areas

  • Skills – Developing a personal interest or talent
  • Physical Recreation – Committing to an activity that improves health and fitness
  • Service – Volunteering to make a difference in the community

In addition, students take part in an Adventurous Journey, where they work in teams to plan and complete an outdoor expedition—often one of the most memorable and rewarding parts of the Award.

The International Award supports ISD’s mission to empower students to become caring, capable, and internationally-minded individuals. It strengthens character, encourages independence, and helps young people gain confidence and purpose as they step into the wider world.

Whether they go for Bronze, Silver, or Gold, students who take on the Award at ISD embark on an experience they will carry with them for life.
