Our MYP5 students participated in our third annual Well-Being Day, a special event designed to support their mental and emotional health while equipping them with practical skills for personal growth. The day provided a much-appreciated pause from regular lessons, allowing students to focus on strategies that enhance well-being, resilience, and self-awareness.
The event featured engaging stations covering a variety of themes:
- Daily Planning: Practical tips on managing time and setting priorities effectively.
- Helpful Organizations in The Netherlands: Resources and services available for young people seeking advice or support.
- Mindfulness: Exercises to center and calm the mind, promoting relaxation and focus.
- Positive Self-Talk: Techniques to reframe thoughts and foster a more positive mindset.
A particular highlight was an exercise exploring how we view stress, inspired by a great video on how to make stress your friend (LINK). Students reflected on the nature of stress, how to manage it, and why understanding it can lead to healthier responses. Feedback showed that this was one of the most memorable parts of the day.
The atmosphere was supportive and uplifting, with students fully engaged throughout the sessions. The popular tea station added to the cozy, relaxed vibe, providing moments for connection with friends.
We’ve gathered valuable feedback to make next year’s event even better, but we’re delighted to share that the students enjoyed the opportunity to step away from their usual school routines and focus on their well-being in a meaningful way.
